BlackVue Elite 10 1CH 4K Dash Cam
Help me choose the right setup
Overview
The BlackVue Elite 10 1CH puts BlackVue's flagship 4K Ultra HD front camera — the 8MP Sony STARVIS 2 (IMX678) with HDR, 12-bit colour and H.265 at up to 60Mbps — into a streamlined single-camera package for drivers who want the very best forward evidence without a rear install.
Who it's for
This is flagship-grade front protection in its simplest form: premium vehicles, lease cars where a rear cable run isn't wanted, and drivers who simply want the sharpest possible record of the road ahead. Everything the Elite 10 2CH does forward, in a cleaner one-camera install.
- Premium buyers
- Maximum front detail
- Simple flagship install
- Lease & company cars
Want the rear covered in 4K too? The Elite 10 2CH is the full flagship. Watching the budget? The Elite 8 1CH keeps the Elite essentials at 2K.
Pros & cons
Pros
- Flagship 4K Ultra HD front camera — 8MP Sony STARVIS 2 (IMX678)
- HDR with 12-bit colour — over 68 billion colours of evidentially clean footage
- H.265 at up to 60Mbps keeps 4K files sharp and manageable
- Power Saving parking under 1mA — over 12 months with the B-130A battery
- Dual-band Wi-Fi 5, dual-band GPS and BlackVue Cloud support
- 64GB card and hardwire kit included; supports up to 1TB
Worth knowing
- Front-only — for rear coverage choose the Elite 10 2CH
- No screen — footage is reviewed in the BlackVue app
- Cloud needs the optional CM100GLTE module (BYO SIM) or a hotspot
- 4K files are large — plan for a bigger card
A closer look
What it captures
Driving into low sun on the motorway, HDR holds the exposure while 4K resolves the plate of the car that brake-checks you three lanes over. In a tunnel at night, 12-bit colour keeps detail in the shadows a lesser camera would crush to black.
BlackVue's best front camera
The 8MP Sony STARVIS 2 (IMX678) records 4K Ultra HD at 30fps with HDR and 12-bit colour depth, compressed with H.265 at up to 60Mbps — the highest-fidelity forward footage in the BlackVue range, where plates, faces and road detail survive enlargement.
Real parking protection, three ways
Three parking modes cover every situation: Motion Detection records full one-minute buffered clips whenever something moves near the car; Timelapse condenses 30 real-world minutes into every one-minute file for long stays; and Power Saving drops the camera below 1mA — so low it can stand guard for over 12 months when paired with the B-130A Ultra Battery, waking in under a second on impact.
BlackVue Cloud, Wi-Fi 5 and GPS
Dual-band Wi-Fi 5 for fast 4K playback in the app; optional CM100GLTE LTE module or hotspot for remote live view, push alerts, clip downloads and GPS tracking from anywhere. Dual-band GPS (GPS + GLONASS) stamps speed and location on every clip.
Flagship build, Australian-ready
Supercapacitor power handles Australian heat, in the iconic screenless cylinder that installs with a factory-like finish behind the mirror.
Installation options
Hardwire kit (included — unlocks parking mode): fuse-box install with battery-protecting voltage cut-off. We recommend a qualified auto electrician.
OBD-II cable (easy DIY parking mode): the optional BlackVue OBD-II Power Cable — no fuse-box wiring. Not suitable for some EVs.
B-130A Ultra Battery (best for EVs and long stays): over 12 months of Power Saving protection, zero drain on the car battery.
Recommended accessories
| Accessory | What it does | Recommended? |
|---|---|---|
| B-130A Ultra Battery | Over 12 months of Power Saving parking protection, zero battery drain | Recommended |
| High-endurance microSD (256GB+) | 4K at 60Mbps fills cards quickly | Recommended |
| CM100GLTE LTE module | BlackVue Cloud anywhere with mobile coverage (BYO SIM) | Optional |
| CPL-2 filter | Cuts glare for the cleanest possible 4K | Optional |
Recording time by card size
| microSD size | Approx. continuous recording |
|---|---|
| 64GB (included) | ~6 hours |
| 128GB | ~12 hours |
| 256GB | ~24 hours |
| 512GB | ~48 hours |
| 1TB | ~96 hours |
Recording times are estimates only. Real-world figures vary with resolution, bitrate, the number of channels recording, how often parking mode is triggered and your settings. Footage loops (oldest overwritten first) unless saved or protected. Use a high-endurance microSD card rated for continuous recording.

Frequently asked questions
What makes the Elite 10 the flagship?
The 8MP STARVIS 2 (IMX678) sensor with HDR, 12-bit colour and H.265 at up to 60Mbps — the most detailed, most compression-resistant footage BlackVue makes. The 1CH gives you exactly that, front-only.
Is 4K worth it over 2K?
If you want plates readable at distance, across lanes, or from cropped footage — yes. 4K carries four times the pixels of Full HD and roughly double 2K, and the 60Mbps bitrate preserves it.
Can I add a rear camera later?
The Elite 10 1CH is sold as a front-only kit — if you want front and rear coverage, buy the Elite 10 2CH from the start.
Will parking mode drain my battery?
No — Power Saving draws under 1mA with sub-second wake, the hardwire kit has a voltage cut-off, and the B-130A battery option removes the car battery from the equation entirely for 12+ months of protection.
Do I need a subscription?
No — recording, parking, Wi-Fi and GPS all work with zero ongoing costs. Cloud is optional via the CM100GLTE module or a hotspot.
Do I need an account to use the BlackVue app?
Yes — the current BlackVue app uses a free account, and first-time setup needs an internet connection. After that you can connect to the camera directly over Wi-Fi, and your account includes 1GB of free BlackVue Cloud storage for backed-up clips.
Is my footage private?
Yes. Footage records to the microSD card in the camera and the camera is private by default — sharing features such as Live Broadcast stay off unless you deliberately enable them, and any Cloud features are tied to your own account.
