How to choose the right dash cam

Front only, or front and rear?

A single-channel (front) camera covers the road ahead. A 2-channel (front + rear) system also records behind you — and since rear-end collisions are one of the most common crashes, most drivers are better protected with front and rear. Single-channel · Front + rear.

How much resolution do you need?

Do you want parking mode?

Parking mode records while you're away, capturing car-park dents and hit-and-runs. It needs a power source that stays live — an OBD-II cable, a hardwire kit or a battery pack. See our installation guide.

Driving an EV or hybrid?

EVs and hybrids are best paired with a dedicated battery pack for parking mode. Their small 12V battery isn't built for a constant draw and many shut it down when parked, so a battery pack powers your dash cam independently — around-the-clock protection that never touches the car's batteries.
