Complete your setup
Choose a memory card and tick anything else you’d like — it all ships together with your camera.
High-endurance memory card — built for non-stop recording
Help me choose the right setup
Memory card — what size? We recommend 256GB for 4K or dual-channel cameras: they record large files, and 256GB holds roughly a full day of footage before it loops — so you’re far less likely to lose an incident before you save it. 128GB is plenty for single-channel or 2K cameras.
Always fit a fresh, high-endurance card. Dash cams record in a non-stop loop, which wears out standard or old phone cards quickly and causes dropouts, “please format” errors or corrupted clips — exactly when you need the footage. A new card rated for continuous recording is the reliable choice.
Parking protection — especially EVs & Teslas. Parking mode runs around the clock. A battery pack powers it from its own cells, so it never draws on your car’s 12V system — 24/7 protection with no flat-battery risk, which matters most on EVs where you can’t safely deep-cycle the main battery.
Cloud connectivity. Add the BlackVue CM100GLTE 4G module for remote live view, impact alerts and GPS tracking from anywhere. You supply a data SIM — around $5–10/month is generally plenty.
Easy self-install. A BlackVue OBD-II power cable plugs straight into your car’s OBD port — no fuse-box wiring — and keeps the camera powered for parking mode.

Overview

The BlackVue DR770X-2CH II covers you front and rear in Full HD, with Sony STARVIS sensors on both cameras, a 60fps front channel, built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, and full BlackVue Cloud support — the dual-channel workhorse that fleets and rideshare drivers keep coming back to.

Who it's for

Choose the DR770X-2CH II if you want both directions covered by a camera that treats reliability as the whole job. Most disputed claims involve the rear of the car — nose-to-tail hits, car-park knocks, tailgaters — and this is the most affordable way to get genuine BlackVue evidence at both ends.

  • Rideshare drivers
  • Fleet & work vehicles
  • Everyday commuters
  • Front + rear evidence

Only need the front covered? The DR770X-1CH II saves you $220 and can take a rear camera later. Want 2K at both ends? See the Elite 8 2CH.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Front and rear coverage — protection from the angles where disputes actually happen
  • Sony STARVIS sensors on both cameras, not just the front
  • 60fps front channel keeps moving plates readable
  • Hardwire kit, 6m coax cable and 64GB card all included
  • BlackVue Cloud support with live view, impact alerts and GPS tracking
  • Supercapacitor build rated to 80°C, supports up to 1TB microSD

Worth knowing

  • 1080p, not 2K or 4K — for more plate detail see the Elite range
  • Rear camera records at 30fps (front is 60fps)
  • Cloud needs the optional CM100GLTE module (BYO SIM) or a hotspot
  • Running the rear cable is the longest part of the install — a pro install keeps it invisible

A closer look

What it captures

You're rear-ended at the lights and the other driver claims you rolled backwards — the rear camera ends the argument in one clip. A tailgater clips you changing lanes, a trolley dings your parked car, a hit-and-run at the servo: with STARVIS sensors both ends and buffered parking mode, the five seconds before every event are already saved.

Dual Sony STARVIS, front and rear

Plenty of dual-channel cameras pair a decent front sensor with a cheap rear one. The DR770X-2CH II runs genuine Sony STARVIS low-light sensors on both channels, so the car behind you is identifiable at night — which is exactly when you need it.

BlackVue Cloud, Wi-Fi and GPS

Add the optional CM100GLTE LTE module or a Wi-Fi hotspot and BlackVue Cloud gives you remote live view of both cameras, instant impact alerts while parked, GPS tracking and remote playback — the feature fleets buy BlackVue for.

Parking mode ready on day one

The hardwire kit is in the box. Once wired, buffered parking mode captures motion and impacts around the whole car, with a voltage cut-off protecting your battery.

Built for Australian conditions

Supercapacitor power (no lithium battery to swell in the heat) and an 80°C operating rating mean it keeps recording through the hottest summer weeks.

Installation options

Plug-and-play (12V socket): the included cigarette-lighter cable powers both cameras while you drive — no parking mode this way.

Hardwire kit (included — unlocks parking mode): fuse-box install with battery-protecting voltage cut-off. With a rear cable to run and a fuse box to wire, this is the install we most often recommend having done professionally.

OBD-II cable (easy DIY parking mode): the optional BlackVue OBD-II Power Cable gives you parking mode without fuse-box wiring. Not suitable for some EVs.

Battery pack (best for EVs): the B-130A Ultra Battery Pack runs parking mode for hours without touching your car's battery.

64GB (included) ~9 hours
128GB ~18 hours
256GB ~37 hours
512GB ~74 hours

Frequently asked questions

Is the rear camera as good as the front?

It uses the same Sony STARVIS 2.1MP sensor as the front camera and records Full HD at 30fps. The front channel runs at 60fps for extra smoothness on oncoming traffic.

Do I need the cloud module?

No — Wi-Fi, GPS, recording and parking mode all work without it. The optional CM100GLTE (with your own SIM) or a hotspot adds remote live view, impact alerts and GPS tracking.

Will the 6m rear cable reach in my 4WD or van?

6m suits most sedans, SUVs and dual-cabs. For long vans, LandCruiser-with-canopy setups or motorhomes, add the 10m coaxial cable.

Will parking mode flatten my battery?

No — the included hardwire kit has a voltage cut-off that shuts the camera down before your battery gets low. EV owners can use a battery pack instead.

What warranty applies in Australia?

Genuine Australian stock carries a 3-year BlackVue Australia warranty (register after purchase), plus your Australian Consumer Law rights.

Do I need an account to use the BlackVue app?

Yes — the current BlackVue app uses a free account, and first-time setup needs an internet connection. After that you can connect to the camera directly over Wi-Fi, and your account includes 1GB of free BlackVue Cloud storage for backed-up clips.

Is my footage private?

Yes. Footage records to the microSD card in the camera and the camera is private by default — sharing features such as Live Broadcast stay off unless you deliberately enable them, and any Cloud features are tied to your own account.
