High-endurance memory card — built for non-stop recording
Help me choose the right setup
Memory card — what size? We recommend 256GB for 4K or dual-channel cameras: they record large files, and 256GB holds roughly a full day of footage before it loops — so you’re far less likely to lose an incident before you save it. 128GB is plenty for single-channel or 2K cameras.
Always fit a fresh, high-endurance card. Dash cams record in a non-stop loop, which wears out standard or old phone cards quickly and causes dropouts, “please format” errors or corrupted clips — exactly when you need the footage. A new card rated for continuous recording is the reliable choice.
Parking protection — especially EVs & Teslas. Parking mode runs around the clock. A battery pack powers it from its own cells, so it never draws on your car’s 12V system — 24/7 protection with no flat-battery risk, which matters most on EVs where you can’t safely deep-cycle the main battery.
Cloud connectivity. Add the BlackVue CM100GLTE 4G module for remote live view, impact alerts and GPS tracking from anywhere. You supply a data SIM — around $5–10/month is generally plenty.
Easy self-install. A BlackVue OBD-II power cable plugs straight into your car’s OBD port — no fuse-box wiring — and keeps the camera powered for parking mode.

Overview

The BlackVue DR770X-1CH II is the Full HD workhorse of the BlackVue range — a 1080p 60fps front camera with Sony STARVIS low-light performance, built-in Wi-Fi and GPS, and full BlackVue Cloud support, with the hardwire kit and a 64GB card already in the box.

Who it's for

This is the camera for drivers who want BlackVue build quality and cloud features without paying 2K or 4K money. Fleet operators and rideshare drivers love the DR770X series because it simply doesn't miss days of work, and the 60fps front camera keeps fast-moving plates readable where 30fps cameras blur them.

  • Fleet & work vehicles
  • Rideshare drivers
  • Everyday commuters
  • Cloud on a budget

Want front and rear coverage? The DR770X-2CH II adds a STARVIS rear camera. Prefer more resolution? The Elite 8 1CH steps you up to 2K Quad HD.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Smooth 1080p at 60fps — fast plates stay readable, not smeared
  • Sony STARVIS sensor for genuinely usable night footage
  • Hardwire kit and 64GB microSD included — parking mode ready on day one
  • BlackVue Cloud support: remote live view, impact alerts and GPS tracking
  • Supercapacitor build rated to 80°C — made for Australian summers
  • Supports microSD cards up to a huge 1TB

Worth knowing

  • 1080p, not 2K or 4K — for maximum plate detail see the Elite range
  • Cloud needs the optional CM100GLTE module (BYO SIM) or a Wi-Fi hotspot
  • No screen — footage is reviewed in the BlackVue app
  • BlackVue-brand or approved high-endurance microSD cards are recommended

A closer look

What it captures

A ute merges into your lane on the M1 and clips your mirror — at 60fps the plate is crisp in every frame. Someone reverses into you in a shopping centre car park and drives off — buffered parking mode has the five seconds before the hit, the impact itself, and the plate as they leave.

Full HD at 60 frames per second

Most 1080p dash cams record at 30fps. The DR770X-1CH II doubles that on the front camera, which halves motion blur — the difference between a readable plate and a guess when both cars are moving. An Extreme mode lifts the bitrate to 25Mbps for maximum detail.

BlackVue Cloud, Wi-Fi and GPS

Built-in Wi-Fi and dual-band GPS come standard. Add the optional CM100GLTE LTE module (with your own nano SIM) or connect a Wi-Fi hotspot and you unlock BlackVue Cloud — remote live view, push notifications the moment your parked car takes a knock, GPS tracking and remote video playback from anywhere.

Parking mode that's ready out of the box

The hardwire kit is included, not an optional extra. Once wired, buffered parking mode records the five seconds before any motion or impact event, and the built-in voltage monitor shuts the camera down before your battery runs low.

Built for Australian heat

A supercapacitor replaces the lithium battery found in cheaper cameras, and the DR770X II is rated to operate at up to 80°C — one of the highest ratings of any dash cam sold in Australia.

Installation options

Plug-and-play (12V socket): the included cigarette-lighter cable has you recording in minutes. The camera runs only while the car is on, so parking mode isn't available this way.

Hardwire kit (included — unlocks parking mode): wires into your fuse box with a voltage cut-off that protects your car battery while the camera keeps watch overnight. We recommend a qualified auto electrician for fuse-box work.

OBD-II cable (easy DIY parking mode): the optional BlackVue OBD-II Power Cable plugs straight into your car's OBD port — parking mode without touching the fuse box. Not suitable for some EVs.

Battery pack (best for EVs): the B-130A Ultra Battery Pack powers parking mode without drawing on the car's 12V system at all.

Frequently asked questions

Does the DR770X-1CH II work with BlackVue Cloud?

Yes. Add the optional CM100GLTE 4G module with your own nano SIM, or connect it to a Wi-Fi hotspot, and you get remote live view, impact alerts, GPS tracking and remote playback. Everything else works without cloud if you don't need it.

Can I add a rear camera later?

Yes — the DR770X-1CH II has the rear-camera port fitted, so you can add the matching rear camera down the track. If you already know you want both, the DR770X-2CH II works out better value.

Is 1080p still enough in 2026?

For most drivers, yes — a quality Sony STARVIS sensor at 60fps beats a cheap 4K camera at night and at speed. If you want maximum plate detail, step up to the Elite 8 (2K) or Elite 9 (4K front).

Does parking mode work out of the box?

The hardwire kit is included, so yes — once it's wired to your fuse box (or via the optional OBD-II cable), buffered parking mode works with no extra purchases.

What warranty do I get in Australia?

Genuine Australian stock comes with a 3-year BlackVue Australia warranty — register the camera after purchase to activate it. You're also covered by Australian Consumer Law.

Do I need an account to use the BlackVue app?

Yes — the current BlackVue app uses a free account, and first-time setup needs an internet connection. After that you can connect to the camera directly over Wi-Fi, and your account includes 1GB of free BlackVue Cloud storage for backed-up clips.

Is my footage private?

Yes. Footage records to the microSD card in the camera and the camera is private by default — sharing features such as Live Broadcast stay off unless you deliberately enable them, and any Cloud features are tied to your own account.
