Overview
The Thinkware Multiplexer Module (MULTMOD) turns a single compatible Thinkware dash cam into a 3, 4 or 5-channel recording system — combining your front camera with up to four extra side, interior and rear cameras, all merged into one Full HD split-screen file that's simple to review.
Who it's for
If front-and-rear isn't enough coverage, the multiplexer is how you go further. It's built for 4WDs and touring setups watching the sides and camp, trucks and vans covering blind spots and cargo, rideshare and taxi drivers who need an in-cabin view, and fleet or work vehicles that want all-round protection on one camera and one memory card.

How the 3, 4 & 5-channel system works
Your dash cam is always Channel 1. The multiplexer connects to the camera's rear input and adds up to four more cameras on ports CAM 1 to CAM 4, so you choose how far to build:
- 3-channel — front + 2 cameras
- 4-channel — front + 3 cameras
- 5-channel — front + 4 cameras
A typical 5-channel touring or fleet build is front camera, two exterior side cameras, one exterior rear camera and one interior cabin camera — every angle recorded together and time-synced. Mix and match the side, interior IR and external rear cameras to suit your vehicle.

What it does
- Accepts up to four additional Full HD cameras (CAM 1–4) and merges them with your front camera into a single 1080p split-screen recording.
- Piano-code switch on the base sets the layout — 2-channel left/right, 2-channel top/bottom, 3-channel or 4-channel synthesis (up to 5 channels total including the front camera).
- Runs the whole system on your dash cam's existing microSD card and parking mode — no second recorder to manage.
- Compact, hidden module (65 × 65 × 17.5mm) that tucks under a seat or behind trim.
Compatibility & installation
Works with these cameras from our range: U1000 Plus, Q200, F790 and T700. It is not compatible with the U3000, U3000 Pro or Q1000 (those use a different digital rear system). The multiplexer must be hardwired — it needs a Thinkware hardwiring cable to power the system for both driving and parking mode, so we recommend professional installation. Some cameras use a small included adaptor (a U1000 Plus adaptor is supplied in the box); the side and interior cameras may need a model-specific adaptor — ask us and we'll confirm exactly what your vehicle needs.

Which Thinkware dash cams work with the multiplexer?
From our range, the U1000 Plus, Q200, F790 and T700. It does not work with the U3000, U3000 Pro or Q1000, which use a different rear-camera system. If you don't yet own a compatible camera, start with one of those four and add the multiplexer.
What is the difference between a 3, 4 and 5-channel setup?
Your dash cam is channel one. A 3-channel setup adds two cameras, 4-channel adds three, and 5-channel adds four (for example two side cameras, one rear and one interior). You choose how many to run and set the layout on the multiplexer's switch.
Do I need anything else to make it work?
Yes — the multiplexer must be hardwired, so you need a Thinkware hardwiring cable, plus the add-on cameras you want. Because it taps into your fuse box for parking-mode power, we strongly recommend professional installation.
Does it record everything on one memory card?
Yes. All channels are combined into a single Full HD file and saved to your dash cam's existing microSD card, using your normal driving and parking-mode settings. Use a high-endurance card and a larger capacity if you're running four extra cameras.
Is the video quality reduced with more cameras?
Each channel records at Full HD 1080p and the multiplexer combines them into one split-screen file, so more cameras share the frame. It's designed for coverage and evidence across many angles rather than maximum detail on any single one — ideal for touring, fleet and rideshare.
