Complete your setup
Choose a memory card and tick anything else you’d like — it all ships together with your camera.
High-endurance memory card — built for non-stop recording
A high-endurance microSD card is included with every Thinkware kit — you can record from day one. Upgrading later? Check your model’s maximum: 128GB (T700), 256GB (U3000, Q1000, Q200, Q850 — Samsung PRO Endurance or SanDisk High Endurance only) or 512GB (U3000 Pro, U1000 Plus).
Help me choose the right setup
Memory card — what size? We recommend 256GB for 4K or dual-channel cameras: they record large files, and 256GB holds roughly a full day of footage before it loops — so you’re far less likely to lose an incident before you save it. 128GB is plenty for single-channel or 2K cameras.
Always fit a fresh, high-endurance card. Dash cams record in a non-stop loop, which wears out standard or old phone cards quickly and causes dropouts, “please format” errors or corrupted clips — exactly when you need the footage. A new card rated for continuous recording is the reliable choice.
Parking protection — especially EVs & Teslas. Parking mode runs around the clock. A battery pack powers it from its own cells, so it never draws on your car’s 12V system — 24/7 protection with no flat-battery risk, which matters most on EVs where you can’t safely deep-cycle the main battery.
Cloud connectivity. Add the BlackVue CM100GLTE 4G module for remote live view, impact alerts and GPS tracking from anywhere. You supply a data SIM — around $5–10/month is generally plenty.
Easy self-install. A BlackVue OBD-II power cable plugs straight into your car’s OBD port — no fuse-box wiring — and keeps the camera powered for parking mode.

Overview

The Thinkware Q200 packs a 2K front camera and Full HD rear into one of the smallest, most discreet dual-channel kits in Australia — with HDR, parking mode and the hardwire cable already in the box, under $450.

Who it's for

This is the front-and-rear kit for buyers who want a premium Korean brand at an entry price, and a camera that disappears behind the mirror instead of dominating the windscreen. It's a smart first dash cam, a great fit for smaller cars, and — with the optional infrared cabin camera as the second channel — a budget rideshare setup.

  • Budget front + rear
  • Compact & discreet
  • First dash cam
  • Rideshare on a budget

Want sharper rear footage and connected features? The Q1000 records 2K at both ends. Want GPS and ADAS included without an add-on? The F790 has GPS built into its mounting cradle.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • 2K QHD front camera with HDR at an entry price
  • Genuinely tiny barrel design — hides completely behind the mirror
  • Hardwire cable included: parking mode ready on day one
  • Flexible second channel — rear window, infrared cabin, or external camera options
  • Expandable to 5 channels with the optional multiplexer
  • 3-year Australian warranty — rare at this price

Worth knowing

  • No built-in GPS — ADAS and safety-camera alerts need the optional GPS antenna
  • No cloud or remote features (local Wi-Fi to the app only)
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, and the included 32GB card is worth upgrading
  • Rear camera is 1080p, not 2K

A closer look

What it captures

A ute backs into you at the servo and insists you crept forward — the front 2K clip shows your stationary bonnet and their reversing lights. Overnight on the street, motion and impact parking mode (hardwired, cable included) catches the mirror clip you'd otherwise have found in the morning.

Small enough to forget

The Q200's barrel body is under 10cm long and tucks entirely behind the rear-view mirror — no screen glowing on the windscreen, nothing for a thief to notice, nothing in your eyeline.

2K + HDR up front

The 4MP front sensor records 2K QHD with HDR and dewarping, backed by Super Night Vision 2.0 processing in parking mode. The Full HD rear camera covers the direction most claims come from.

Parking mode without extra purchases

The hardwire cable is included, so motion, impact, time-lapse and energy-saving parking work from day one — with voltage cut-off protecting the battery.

A second channel your way

The rear camera in this kit is just one option — the Q200 also accepts an infrared cabin camera (the budget rideshare play) or an external camera, and the optional multiplexer takes it to five channels.

Installation options

Hardwire cable (included — unlocks parking mode): fuse-box install with voltage cut-off; quick work for an auto electrician.

OBD-II harness (easy DIY alternative): the Thinkware OBD-II Power Cable enables all parking modes with no wiring.

iVolt battery (EVs / long parking): an iVolt Max runs parking mode without loading the car's system.

Recommended accessories

Accessory What it does Recommended?

Recording time by card size

32GB (included) ~3.5 hours
64GB ~7 hours
128GB ~14 hours
256GB ~28 hours

Recording times are estimates only. Real-world figures vary with resolution, bitrate, the number of channels recording, how often parking mode is triggered and your settings. Footage loops (oldest overwritten first) unless saved or protected. Use a high-endurance microSD card rated for continuous recording.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Thinkware Q200 have GPS?

Not built in. The optional GPSANT antenna adds GPS — which also switches on the driver-assistance warnings and Australian safety-camera alerts. Without it, the Q200 still records everything; footage just isn't speed/location stamped.

Is parking mode included?

Yes — the hardwire cable comes in the kit, so motion, impact, time-lapse and energy-saving parking all work once it's wired, with a voltage cut-off protecting your battery.

Can I use it for rideshare?

Yes — the Q200's second channel is flexible, and an infrared cabin camera makes it one of the cheapest credible rideshare setups from a major brand. Ask us before ordering and we'll set you up with the right combination.

What's the catch at this price?

No GPS or cloud out of the box, 2.4GHz-only Wi-Fi and a small included card. Nothing that affects the core job: sharp 2K evidence up front, Full HD behind, and real parking protection.

What warranty applies in Australia?

3 years through TDJ Australia on genuine Australian stock — unusual at this price point — plus your Australian Consumer Law rights.
