High-endurance memory card — built for non-stop recording
Help me choose the right setup
Memory card — what size? We recommend 256GB for 4K or dual-channel cameras: they record large files, and 256GB holds roughly a full day of footage before it loops — so you’re far less likely to lose an incident before you save it. 128GB is plenty for single-channel or 2K cameras.
Always fit a fresh, high-endurance card. Dash cams record in a non-stop loop, which wears out standard or old phone cards quickly and causes dropouts, “please format” errors or corrupted clips — exactly when you need the footage. A new card rated for continuous recording is the reliable choice.
Parking protection — especially EVs & Teslas. Parking mode runs around the clock. A battery pack powers it from its own cells, so it never draws on your car’s 12V system — 24/7 protection with no flat-battery risk, which matters most on EVs where you can’t safely deep-cycle the main battery.
Cloud connectivity. Add the BlackVue CM100GLTE 4G module for remote live view, impact alerts and GPS tracking from anywhere. You supply a data SIM — around $5–10/month is generally plenty.
Easy self-install. A BlackVue OBD-II power cable plugs straight into your car’s OBD port — no fuse-box wiring — and keeps the camera powered for parking mode.

Overview

The BlackVue DR590X-2CH PLUS is the cheapest way to get genuine BlackVue cameras on both ends of your car — Full HD front and rear, a Sony STARVIS front sensor, parking mode and a 3-year Australian warranty, for less than $500.

Who it's for

Most disputed claims involve the back of the car, which is exactly where a front-only camera can't help you. The 2CH PLUS is for commuters, families and second cars that want simple, reliable evidence in both directions from a brand name — without flagship pricing, cloud accounts or anything to subscribe to.

  • Budget front + rear
  • Families & second cars
  • Commuters
  • No-subscription simplicity

Only need the front? The DR590X-1CH PLUS is $170 less. Want cloud features, 60fps in dual-channel and 1TB storage? Step up to the DR770X-2CH II.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Genuine front + rear BlackVue under $500 — the value pick of the range
  • Full HD on both cameras with a Sony STARVIS front sensor
  • Parking mode covers the car at both ends when hardwired (kit included)
  • Supercapacitor build — no lithium battery to fail in the heat
  • Simple: record, park-protect, review in the app — nothing to subscribe to
  • 3-year Australian warranty via BlackVue Australia

Worth knowing

  • In 2CH form both cameras record at 30fps (the 1CH records at 60fps)
  • Rear sensor is a standard CMOS, not STARVIS — night detail is stronger up front
  • No cloud, and GPS needs the optional external module
  • 32GB card included — upgrade it for meaningful history across two channels

A closer look

What it captures

Rear-ended at a roundabout by a driver who insists you braked for nothing — the rear clip shows their phone in hand. A trolley ding, a reversing scrape in the driveway, a tailgater who didn't stop: both ends recorded, time-stamped and safe before the argument starts.

Two cameras, one honest price

Cheap no-name dual kits cut corners on sensors, capacitors and warranty. The DR590X-2CH PLUS gives you a genuine Sony STARVIS front camera, a Full HD rear camera and BlackVue's build quality at the lowest dual-channel price in the range.

Parking mode, front and rear

Hardwired (the kit's included), the camera watches both directions while you're parked — impacts and motion are recorded, and the voltage cut-off protects your battery.

No accounts, no subscriptions

Footage stays on the card in your car. Connect over Wi-Fi to the BlackVue app to watch, download and share clips in minutes.

BlackVue build in a budget package

The same discreet cylinder design and supercapacitor power as the premium models, backed by the same 3-year Australian warranty.

Installation options

Plug-and-play (12V socket): included cable, recording in minutes, no parking mode.

Hardwire kit (included — unlocks parking mode): fuse-box install with battery-protecting voltage cut-off; the rear camera cable runs to the back window. An auto electrician makes this a tidy hour or two.

Battery pack (best for EVs): the B-130A Ultra Battery Pack powers parking mode without loading your 12V system.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the DR590X-2CH PLUS and the DR770X-2CH II?

The DR770X-2CH II adds a 60fps front channel, STARVIS on the rear camera, cloud support and 1TB card capacity for about $200 more. The 590X-2CH PLUS keeps the essentials — Full HD both ends, parking mode, BlackVue build — at the lowest price.

Is the rear camera good at night?

It's Full HD and does a solid job in street lighting, but it uses a standard sensor rather than STARVIS, so night detail is stronger from the front camera. If night rear plates matter most, look at the DR770X-2CH II.

Does it come with everything I need?

Yes — both cameras, the rear cable, a 32GB card and the hardwire kit are in the box. Most buyers add a bigger card for more recording history.

Will parking mode drain my battery?

No — the hardwire kit's voltage cut-off shuts the camera down before your battery gets low. A battery pack is the alternative for EVs or long stints parked.

What warranty do I get?

3 years through BlackVue Australia on genuine local stock (register after purchase), plus your Australian Consumer Law rights.

Do I need an account to use the BlackVue app?

Yes — the current BlackVue app uses a free account, and first-time setup needs an internet connection. After that you connect directly to the camera over its own Wi-Fi, no mobile coverage needed.

Is my footage private?

Yes. Footage records only to the microSD card in the camera — this is a Wi-Fi-direct model, so nothing is uploaded anywhere. Footage is only accessible to someone with the card or a paired app connection.

Downloads
