Yes — a rear camera can be added later. Contact us and we'll match the right rear camera for your DR590X. If you want front-and-rear from day one, the DR590X-2CH PLUS is the better-value way to buy it.
Does it have GPS?
Not built in. The optional G-1 external GPS receiver adds speed and location stamping if you want it — plenty of drivers run without it.
Is this dash cam good at night?
Yes for its class — the Sony STARVIS sensor is the same low-light family used across BlackVue's premium range. It's the main reason to buy this over a generic budget camera.
Does parking mode need anything extra?
Just the included hardwire kit connected to your fuse box (or a battery pack). Impact and motion events are then recorded while you're parked, with a voltage cut-off protecting your battery.
What's the warranty in Australia?
3 years through BlackVue Australia on genuine local stock — register the camera after purchase. Australian Consumer Law rights apply on top.
Do I need an account to use the BlackVue app?
Yes — the current BlackVue app uses a free account, and first-time setup needs an internet connection. After that you connect directly to the camera over its own Wi-Fi, no mobile coverage needed.
Is my footage private?
Yes. Footage records only to the microSD card in the camera — this is a Wi-Fi-direct model, so nothing is uploaded anywhere. Footage is only accessible to someone with the card or a paired app connection.
