Overview
The VIOFO A119M Pro packs true 4K front recording and a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor into a compact single-channel body — and it even includes a CPL filter in the box for glare-free daytime footage.

Who it's for
For drivers who want the sharpest front-only footage without going to a 2-channel kit. The 4K resolution makes plates and detail razor-sharp, so it's ideal if you mainly worry about what's happening ahead of you.
- 4K front recording
- Sony STARVIS 2
- CPL filter included
- GPS + Wi-Fi 6
Happy with 2K? The A119 Mini 2 costs less. Want the rear covered too? The A229 Pro pairs a 4K front with a 2K rear.
Pros & cons
Pros
- True 4K front footage — exceptional detail and plate clarity
- Sony STARVIS 2 sensor with HDR for strong low-light results
- CPL filter included to cut windscreen glare
- Built-in GPS and Wi-Fi 6
- Compact body that stays discreet behind the mirror
Worth knowing
- Front camera only: it does not take a rear camera, so choose an A229 kit if you want front and rear
- Parking mode needs the HK4 hardwire kit (sold separately)
- 4K files are larger — use a high-endurance card
- microSD card sold separately
A closer look
4K clarity up front
Stepping up to true 4K, the A119M Pro captures noticeably more detail than a 2K camera — important when you need to read a plate two cars ahead or pick out detail at the edge of frame. The Sony STARVIS 2 sensor keeps that clarity going after dark.
Glare sorted out of the box
Unlike many cameras, the A119M Pro includes a CPL filter — a polarising lens that cuts windscreen and dashboard reflections so your daytime footage stays clear and punchy. That's an extra you'd normally pay for, included.
Installation options
Car charger (included, plug-and-play): plug into the 12V socket and tuck the cable around the windscreen trim, and you are recording in minutes. Recording stops when the socket switches off with the ignition, so parking mode needs a hardwire kit or a battery pack.
VIOFO HK4 hardwire kit (or the HK6) (optional, unlocks parking mode): connects to the fuse box with a low-voltage cut-off that protects your car battery, and frees up the 12V socket. It is what turns on the buffered parking modes.
Professional fitting: hardwiring means working in the fuse box. If you would rather not, we can point you to an installer. Our guide to dash cam power options compares every option.

Image quality
The 8MP Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 records true 4K at 30fps, with HDR to balance harsh light.

Wi-Fi 6, GPS and voice control
Wi-Fi 6 downloads, a GPS logger for speed and location, and spoken commands for locking clips.

Parking protection
Hardwired, it offers auto event detection, low bitrate and time-lapse parking modes, buffered so the moments before an event are kept.

Glare control
A CPL filter is in the box to cut windscreen reflections; a Bluetooth remote is optional.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose 4K over the 2K Mini 2?
4K captures more detail, so plates and fine detail stay sharper — worth it if front clarity is your priority. The Mini 2 is smaller and cheaper if 2K is enough.
Does it really include a CPL filter?
Yes — a CPL filter is included in the box, which cuts windscreen glare and reflections for clearer daytime footage.
Can I add a rear camera?
No. The A119M Pro is a single-channel front camera and does not take a rear camera. For front and rear, choose an A229 kit: the Plus (2K both ways), Pro (4K front, 2K rear) or Ultra (4K both ways).
What memory card should I use?
A card built for constant rewriting. We recommend VIOFO's Industrial Grade cards, which we stock in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.
