Thinkware iVolt Mini Dash Cam Battery Pack
Overview
The Thinkware iVolt Mini is the compact dash cam battery pack for daily drivers: enough capacity for a full day and night of parking mode, refilled in about 45 minutes of driving — without your dash cam ever touching the car battery.
Who it's for
Commuters and school-run cars that get driven most days, apartment dwellers on street parking, and anyone who wants overnight parking protection without the size or price of the iVolt Max. Because it recharges so quickly, even short daily drives keep it topped up.
- Daily drivers
- Overnight street parking
- Short commutes — fast recharge
- First battery pack

Installation
The iVolt Mini charges from the fuse box while the ignition is on (hardwire charging cable and fuse taps included), and your dash cam's power cable plugs into the battery instead of the car. It's a tidy add-on to any dash cam install — see our installation page — and at 165 × 131 × 37mm it hides under a seat or in the glovebox area.

Frequently asked questions
How long will it run my dash cam while parked?
Thinkware rates it at up to 20 hours of single-channel parking mode, or around 16 hours running a front and rear camera — comfortably a full day and night for most daily drivers.
How is it different from the iVolt Max?
The Mini is smaller, lighter and cheaper with 57.6Wh of capacity and a 45-minute recharge; the Max nearly triples the capacity (27 hours of 2-channel parking, up to 40 days in energy-saving modes) and adds Bluetooth app monitoring. Daily drivers pick the Mini; EV owners and airport parkers pick the Max.
Will short trips keep it charged?
Yes — the roughly 45-minute full recharge is the Mini's party trick. A normal commute keeps it topped up for the next night's parking.
Does it work with non-Thinkware dash cams?
It's designed for Thinkware but supplies standard 12V output, so it can power other brands' cameras via their hardwire kits. Ask us if you're unsure about your setup.
Will it drain or damage my car battery?
No — it only draws charge while the engine is running, and your camera runs entirely off the battery pack while parked.
