Complete your setup
Choose a memory card and tick anything else you’d like — it all ships together with your camera.
High-endurance memory card — built for non-stop recording
A high-endurance microSD card is included with every Thinkware kit — you can record from day one. Upgrading later? Check your model’s maximum: 128GB (T700), 256GB (U3000, Q1000, Q200, Q850 — Samsung PRO Endurance or SanDisk High Endurance only) or 512GB (U3000 Pro, U1000 Plus).
Help me choose the right setup
Memory card — what size? We recommend 256GB for 4K or dual-channel cameras: they record large files, and 256GB holds roughly a full day of footage before it loops — so you’re far less likely to lose an incident before you save it. 128GB is plenty for single-channel or 2K cameras.
Always fit a fresh, high-endurance card. Dash cams record in a non-stop loop, which wears out standard or old phone cards quickly and causes dropouts, “please format” errors or corrupted clips — exactly when you need the footage. A new card rated for continuous recording is the reliable choice.
Parking protection — especially EVs & Teslas. Parking mode runs around the clock. A battery pack powers it from its own cells, so it never draws on your car’s 12V system — 24/7 protection with no flat-battery risk, which matters most on EVs where you can’t safely deep-cycle the main battery.
Cloud connectivity. Add the BlackVue CM100GLTE 4G module for remote live view, impact alerts and GPS tracking from anywhere. You supply a data SIM — around $5–10/month is generally plenty.
Easy self-install. A BlackVue OBD-II power cable plugs straight into your car’s OBD port — no fuse-box wiring — and keeps the camera powered for parking mode.

Overview

The Thinkware U3000 Pro is the flagship of the Thinkware range — 4K front and 2K rear on Sony STARVIS 2 sensors with HDR on both cameras, and Thinkware's signature built-in dual radar, which watches your parked car for approaching movement while sipping almost no power.

Who it's for

This is the camera for buyers who want the best parking protection available without a battery-drain compromise, and the sharpest night footage in the Thinkware line-up. It's equally at home on a new family SUV, a high-value 4WD, or a rideshare vehicle — where the optional infrared cabin camera turns it into a three-channel system.

  • Premium buyers
  • Radar parking protection
  • Night-time clarity
  • Rideshare (cabin cam option)

Don't need dual HDR or the cabin-camera option? The standard U3000 keeps the radar parking and 4K front for $429 less. Want always-on remote access? Add the LTE Module — it includes the SIM and three years of Thinkware Connected.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Built-in dual radar wakes the camera before an impact — buffered parking clips with barely any battery use
  • 4K STARVIS 2 front and 2K STARVIS 2 rear with HDR on both cameras
  • Super Night Vision 4.0 — the best night footage in the Thinkware range
  • CPL filter included in the box (usually a $50+ extra)
  • Supports 512GB microSD — weeks of touring footage
  • Optional infrared cabin camera makes it a 3-channel rideshare setup

Worth knowing

  • Remote Connected features need the optional LTE Module or a Wi-Fi hotspot
  • The LTE Module and the cabin camera can't be used at the same time
  • Parking mode needs the included hardwire cable (or the OBD-II harness) connected
  • Premium price — this is the flagship

A closer look

What it captures

Someone side-swipes your parked car at the shops: radar picked up their approach, the camera was already recording, and the clip includes the ten seconds before the bang — plate, angle and all. At night, dual HDR keeps headlights from blowing out plates front and rear, which is where most 4K cameras quietly fail.

Radar parking: protection without the power drain

Conventional parking modes either record constantly (draining power) or wake on impact (missing the lead-up). The U3000 Pro's front and rear radar sensors detect approaching motion and wake the camera before anything happens, capturing buffered clips with ten seconds of lead-in — while drawing so little power it can watch your car for days when paired with the right power setup.

4K + 2K on Sony STARVIS 2, with HDR both ends

The front 8.42MP IMX678 records 4K at 30fps (or 2K at 60fps), and the rear STARVIS 2 records 2K — with HDR on both channels. That dual-HDR rear is the Pro's key upgrade over the standard U3000, and it shows at night.

Thinkware Connected (optional LTE)

Add the LTE Module — SIM and three years of the Connected Basic plan included — for remote live view, parked impact alerts with video, vehicle location and an SOS emergency message, with no hotspot juggling.

Full safety suite

Front collision and departure warnings, Australian safety-camera alerts via built-in GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a supercapacitor design that handles Australian heat.

Installation options

Hardwire cable (included — unlocks parking mode): the HWC wires to your fuse box with battery-voltage cut-off. We recommend an auto electrician for fuse-box work.

OBD-II harness (easy DIY alternative): the Thinkware OBD-II Power Cable plugs into your OBD port and enables every parking mode with no wiring.

iVolt battery (EVs and long stints parked): the iVolt Max powers radar parking for up to 40 days without touching your car battery — Thinkware's own recommendation for EVs and smart-alternator vehicles.

Frequently asked questions

What does radar parking mode actually do?

Front and rear radar sensors watch for approaching movement while the camera sleeps on minimal power. When something approaches, the camera wakes and records a buffered clip that includes the ten seconds before any impact — so you get the lead-up, not just the aftermath.

What's the difference between the U3000 Pro and the standard U3000?

The Pro adds a STARVIS 2 rear sensor with HDR on both cameras (the standard U3000 has no HDR), 512GB card support instead of 256GB, a wider 156° rear view, and the options of the LTE Module and infrared cabin camera.

Do I need a subscription?

Not for recording, radar parking or any core feature. Remote access needs the optional LTE Module — which includes a SIM and three years of the Connected Basic plan — or your own Wi-Fi hotspot.

Can I run the cabin camera and the LTE Module together?

No — they share the same connection, so it's one or the other. Rideshare drivers usually take the cabin camera; remote-monitoring buyers take the LTE Module.

Will it drain my battery while parked?

Radar parking is designed to draw very little power, and the hardwire cable's voltage cut-off protects the battery. For EVs or weeks-long parking, the iVolt Max battery is the clean solution.

What warranty applies in Australia?
