Why these two belong together
Motion-detect parking mode is thorough — the camera is awake and analysing the scene — but that costs power. Hardwired to the car, the voltage cut-off will step in after a matter of hours to protect the starter battery. Running off the iVolt Max instead, the U1000 Plus covers a full day of active motion detection per charge, and far longer in energy-saving mode — with your car battery completely untouched.
The battery recharges only while you drive (as little as 55 minutes to full), uses heat-tolerant LiFePO4 chemistry suited to Australian summers, and reports charge and temperature to your phone over Bluetooth.
Installation

Is everything I need included?
Yes — the U1000 Plus kit ships with its hardwire cable and a 64GB card, and the iVolt Max includes its charging harness. Add a bigger microSD (up to 512GB) if you want longer history.
Does the cloud need a subscription?
Thinkware Cloud works via a Wi-Fi hotspot in the vehicle (your phone or a portable modem). Live view, geo-fencing, impact alerts and vehicle location are included — there's no mandatory subscription from us.
Will it drain my car battery?
No. While parked the camera runs entirely off the iVolt Max; it only draws from the car while the engine is running, to recharge.
Can this run more than two cameras?
Yes — with the optional multiplexer module the U1000 Plus supports up to five channels (side, cabin and interior cameras). The iVolt Max is the right power source for multi-camera parking setups.
What warranty applies?
The U1000 Plus carries a 3-year Australian warranty via TDJ Australia and the iVolt Max a 12-month warranty — both on genuine Australian stock, plus your Australian Consumer Law rights.
